Henri Francois Riesener
(1767 - 1828)
Henri-Fran?ois Riesener, son of Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806), French cabinetmaker of German birth, was born in 1767 in Paris. He was a student of Jacques-Louis David. The painter participated in Salons from 1793-1827, worked in Paris, Warsaw, St. Petersburg and Moscow (1816-1823). He specialized in portraits and was also known as a miniaturist. Henri-Fran?ois Riesener was the father of the painter L¨Ĥon Riesener (1808¨C78) and uncle of Eug¨¨ne Delacroix.
